Planning approved for new homes in Congresbury
Allison Homes South West has secured approval from North Somerset Council for a new residential development on land at Mulberry Road in Congresbury, marking the next step for the housebuilder’s growing presence in the South West.
The approved scheme will deliver 70 new homes, including 30% affordable housing, following an extensive community consultation undertaken in Autumn 2025. Construction is expected to begin in June 2026, with the first homes anticipated to be available to homebuyers in Spring 2027.
The development will unlock a range of direct benefits for the local community, including approximately £480,000 in Section 106 contributions to support education, public transport and sustainable travel improvements. In addition, the scheme will deliver a further £700,000 in local infrastructure investment through the Community Infrastructure Levy and fund improvements that will transform land adjacent to Millennium Green into a biodiverse hub for local wildlife.
Andy Cattermole, Planning Director at Allison Homes South West, said: “We’re pleased to have received a positive determination on this scheme and are grateful to officers, stakeholders and residents who have played their part in working collaboratively with us to bring it forward.
“We’re excited to deliver much-needed new homes in Congresbury, alongside meaningful investment in local infrastructure and community facilities. We look forward to continuing to work with local stakeholders as the project progresses to ensure the development delivers a lasting, positive legacy.”
The site at Mulberry Road has been designed with a strong focus on placemaking and sustainability. It will include new areas of green open space, as well as a children’s play area for both new and existing residents. All homes will be equipped with air source heat pumps, and electric vehicle charging points supporting lower carbon living.
The Congresbury development sits alongside a growing pipeline of sites being brought forward by Allison Homes South West, including its Centric Parc scheme in Bristol. Together, these projects underline the company’s commitment to supporting housing delivery and economic growth across the South West.
