Work begins on 130 affordable homes in Cambridgeshire village

More than 100 affordable homes are to be built in a Cambridgeshire village.

Leading housing provider Amplius has teamed up with Allison Homes to provide 130 affordable homes on Eyebury Road in Eye.

These homes are part of Allison Homes’ wider 265-home Colliers Rest development, and initial work has already started on site.

Once built, the homes will be made available for affordable rent, social rent and Shared Ownership.

Marcus Keys, Chief Development and Commercial Officer at Amplius, said: “We’ve been working with Allison Homes on several sites for a long time now, so to see our partnership extend into Eye is positive news.

“We’re committed to building the homes people want, where they’re needed most and this development will help address the need for affordable housing in this part of the county.

“By providing the homes, which will range from one to four-bedroom, on mixed tenures, we’ll be creating a balanced community where people will be proud to call home.

“I’m excited to see this development progress and watch the homes taking shape.”

The affordable homes have been part-funded by Homes England, through Amplius’ strategic partnership.
