Allison Homes donates £1,500 to LGBTQ+ charities this Pride Month

In honour of Pride Month (June), we are very proud to have donated a total of £1,500 to three LGBTQ+ charities, one for each of our regions.

Lincoln Pride, Sunrise Diversity in North Devon and Leicestershire LGBTQ+ Centre have each received £500, with our contribution to Sunrise Diversity having helped them to host both Bideford Pride and Barnstaple Diversity Festival and Pride.

This is the fourth year in a row we have supported Pride Month by donating to LGBTQ+ charities where our East, South West and East Midlands regions operate, taking our total donation amount to £6,500.

Alongside supporting Lincoln Pride, Sunrise Diversity and Leicestershire LGBTQ+ Centre, we have also proudly flown Pride flags at some of our developments to further show our support.

Jon Cook, Group Managing Director at Allison Homes, said: “We take great pride in supporting Pride Month at Allison Homes, and remain committed to fostering an inclusive culture where our employees can thrive and express themselves.

We are proud to have contributed £500 to each of these wonderful charities. Lincoln Pride, Sunrise Diversity and Leicestershire LGBTQ+ Centre each provide invaluable services and create safe spaces for people to come together and celebrate their community, and we are honoured to have played a part in their missions.

Lincoln Pride is a community-run charity event, operated by a small team of volunteers and providing the people of Lincoln and the surrounding areas with a fun and safe space. The event celebrates the diversity and inclusivity of the LGBTQ+ community and draws attention to important issues. This year, the event is taking place on Saturday 16th August at Orchard Street Car Park in the city centre. To raise vital funds and ensure Lincoln Pride can go ahead, the charity is hosting a gala on Sunday 27th July.

Arran Hart, Director of Community Engagement at Lincoln Pride said: “The support that Allison Homes has given Lincoln Pride over the last four years has been most appreciated and is a true reflection of their inclusivity and values. This continued commitment has been especially appreciated for the 2025 event where nationally Pride events have struggled for funding, thus further demonstrating that even in trying times Allison Homes is committed to promoting a culture of inclusion and acceptance.

Sunrise Diversity celebrates diversity, promotes equality and social inclusion, and challenges discrimination in North Devon, to ensure individuals from all backgrounds are safe, respected and valued. This year, the charity hosted Bideford Pride on Saturday 31st May and Barnstaple Diversity Festival and Pride on Saturday 21st June. Across both events, local people were able to come together and support the community.

Ana Lodge, CEO of Sunrise Diversity, said: “Support from our community is so important to ensure these events can continue, celebrating inclusivity and diversity in the local area. We really want to make sure everyone can be safely and genuinely, authentically themselves in every area of life – including work, day-to-day life, family, and more. Having the support of organisations like Allison Homes is absolutely key to making that happen.

Leicestershire LGBTQ+ Centre was founded in 1976 as one of the UK’s first gay helplines and offers a range of services, including social and support groups, outreach, counselling, advocacy, bespoke support and guidance.

Carla Hills, Outreach and Development Manager at Leicestershire LGBTQ+ Centre, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Allison Homes for their generous £500 donation – now for the third year running. Their ongoing support during Pride Month is vital in helping us provide safe spaces, vital resources and one-to-one support to Leicestershire’s LGBTQ+ community. Contributions like this ensure that every member can access the help and advice they need to thrive.
