Allison Homes donates Easter eggs to three foodbanks across the country

To celebrate this Easter, we have donated over 200 chocolate eggs to foodbanks local to where we operate.

In the run up to Easter, we held a collection amongst staff at our Group and East head office in Peterborough (Cambridgeshire), South West office in Tiverton (Devon) and East Midlands office in Castle Donington (Derbyshire).

In total we were able to donate 207 eggs – 98 of which went to Peterborough Foodbank, 31 to Churches Housing Action Team (CHAT) in Mid Devon, and 78 to Long Eaton and Sawley Foodbank.

These donations mean that families in need will be able to enjoy a special treat during the Easter season.

A representative for Peterborough Foodbank said: Peterborough Foodbank are excited to partnership with Allison Homes for their Easter egg drive. Every egg donated will be given to families who are facing hunger and hardship this Easter. The families coming to our foodbank are in crisis, cannot afford to buy food and need our help to buy the basics, so to be able to give out Easter eggs with our food parcels this year will be amazing for the children to receive this treat.

Holly Sutton, Fundraising and Development Manager for CHAT, said: “Thank you to Allison Homes for the wonderful donation of Easter eggs and for bringing a smile to the faces of the people we support in our local community.

A representative for Long Eaton and Sawley Foodbank said: “The foodbank provides emergency food parcels to people in need who are referred by local agencies, support groups, schools, GPs, etc. We support lots of families who have children. These families would be unable to purchase Easter eggs, and the children would go without. We give out donated Easter eggs to bring a little joy to people that otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford one. Donated Easter eggs would be greatly appreciated so we can help to make a difference.

Jon Cook, Group Managing Director at Allison Homes, said: “Giving back to the communities we build in is at the core of our values at Allison Homes, so we are delighted to have made these Easter donations and to be supporting three fantastic charities. I’d like to thank all our staff who took part and hope our donated eggs bring some joy to families in need this Easter.
