Alexandra Smith appointed Group Legal Counsel at Allison Homes

Allison Homes has announced the appointment of Alexandra Smith as Group Legal Counsel, a newly created role that reflects the company’s ongoing growth and ambition to deliver high-quality homes and thriving communities across the country. 

Bringing more than 20years’ experience in property, Alexandra joined the business in January2026 and now works closely with General Counsel, DeborahBrown, to strengthen Allison Homes’ legal capability and provide strategic guidance across all aspects of land acquisition, development and partnerships. Her focus includes leading land transactions, and ensuring regional teams and external partners are fully aligned in delivering smooth, efficient  negotiations and compliant land deals. 

With extensive experience navigating complex land and planning frameworks, Alexandra brings valuable expertise at a time when evolving regulations (such as biodiversity net gain requirements) continue to shape the housebuilding landscape. She will also provide legal support to Allison Homes’ Partnerships division and its work with housing associations and partners to deliver affordable homes. 

After completing her legal training, Alexandra went on to build a distinguished career specialising in residential and commercial property at GeldardsLLP and GateleyPLC, where she acted for many of the UK’s leading housebuilders on large and complex schemes.
