First Affordable Homes Handed Over at Manthorpe Chase in Grantham

Affordable housing provider Amplius has received the first 27 homes at ‘Manthorpe Chase’ in Grantham from homebuilder Allison Homes.

The handover marks an important milestone in the ongoing development of the site and in the partnership between the two organisations to deliver high-quality, affordable housing across the region.

The 27 homes form the first tranche of Amplius’ 84 affordable homes at Manthorpe Chase, which is due for completion in late 2027 and is part of the wider 480-home Grantham Village development by Allison Homes.

The 84 affordable homes will include 60 Homes England-funded properties and a further 24 homes via a Section 106 agreement, offering a tenure mix of 35 Shared Ownership, 31 social rent, 14 affordable rent, and 4 Rent to Buy homes, to meet local needs.

Sarah O’Brien, Development Manager at Amplius, said: “It’s always a great moment when the first homes are completed on a development, so we’re delighted to have reached this landmark at Manthorpe Chase.

These homes will help local families either get onto the property ladder or have a safe and warm home to rent at an affordable price.

Each property has been built to a high standard, with energy efficiency and community in mind and we’re looking forward to welcoming our new customers to their homes as part of this growing neighbourhood.

The milestone was marked with an official handover and site tour attended by representatives from both organisations, including  Catherine Lewis, Project Manager for Amplius; Sarah O’Brien, Development Manager at Amplius; Emile Pleasance, Managing Clerk of Works at Amplius; and Patrick Bradley, Site Manager; Ian Trayford, Partnership Quality Manager; Kevin Mowbray, Project Manager; and Faye Meadows, Customer Experience Manager, all from Allison Homes.

James Pennington, Group Partnership & Investment Director of Allison Homes said: “Seeing the first affordable homes at Manthorpe Chase completed and ready for handover is a great moment for the site team. A huge amount of planning and teamwork goes into reaching this stage, and it’s rewarding to see the development really taking shape. Our partnership with Amplius continues to go from strength to strength as we work together to deliver quality homes that will soon provide much-needed affordable options for local people.

Manthorpe Chase forms part of ‘Allison Partnerships’, a division of Allison Homes that works with housing associations, local authorities and other partners to deliver sustainable, affordable housing. The partnership with Amplius reinforces a joint commitment to delivering the right homes in the right places.
