Jon Cook joins Allison Homes as Group Managing Director
Jon Cook has joined Allison Homes as Group Managing Director, taking up his position at an exciting time of renewed growth across the company.
Jon has an impressive 40-year long career in housing, across a variety of senior roles, including as managing director at Crest Nicholson, commercial and technical director at CALA Homes, and most recently as chief executive officer at Places for People Developments.
As Group Managing Director, Jon will oversee the company’s operational and commercial activities, including its drive to double the size of the business over the next three years. Customer experience is another key piece of the Allison jigsaw. With a customer satisfaction score of 96%, Allison already has much to be proud of. The company is determined to set itself apart from its competitors through the levels of trust it inspires in its customers, and with partners, suppliers and employees.
Jon joins Allison at a period of renewed growth, as the company continues to increase its annual housing delivery. Last year it completed more than 600 homes, a 13% uplift on the previous year, and secured a 34% increase in the number of affordable homes delivered, with more than £8million contributed towards community infrastructure. The housebuilder has also secured planning permission for almost 1,775 homes in the past year, with a further 1,976 homes currently progressing through the planning system.
“It’s the Allison growth trajectory that excites me the most” said Jon. “This is an exciting company, buzzing with ambition and smart people. What I really like is the culture that chief executive John Anderson is creating – supportive, but direct; aligning the whole team behind a clear vision and a sense of difference. The objectives are clear and we have a great land bank in place. I look forward to being a part of the team.”
Jon will also manage the Group’s existing regions in the South-West, East Midlands and Central/East, which are at the core of the company’s growth ambitions. The East Midlands region, set up in 2023, has recently announced some key land acquisitions and aims to have spades in the ground on its first three sites in 2025. The company is clear about its intent to set up new regions moving forward too.
John Anderson, Group Chief Executive Officer, said, “We are fortunate to have secured Jon’s services. He has a strong track record of success and a clear management style that focuses on creating strong teams that can seize opportunities and solve problems together. With the full backing of our principal investor, we have a clear growth strategy in place, and Jon’s experience will be vital to helping us deliver this. His vast experience across the industry will take us to the next level of operational excellence.”
