Construction commences on 70 new homes in North Somerset
Allison Homes South West has broken ground at its site in Congresbury – one month after being granted the green light by North Somerset Council.
The initial work on the 70-home development includes preparing the ground for future construction and creating the site’s new entrance. Construction of the first homes on site is expected to begin in August.
The site, known as Hartwell Chase, will deliver 30% affordable housing and invest circa £1.18m directly to the local community through Section 106 and Community Infrastructure Levy contributions.
Allison Homes South West are partnering with local suppliers and contractors throughout the build, ensuring that the local economy and businesses directly benefit from the scheme.
Max Pitcher, Build Director at Allison Homes South West, said: “We’re thrilled to have broken ground at Hartwell Chase – just one month after receiving planning permission. This development marks a significant step forward for Congresbury, offering much-need high quality and affordable housing in North Somerset. Hartwell Chase isn’t about just building new homes; it’s about creating a thriving new neighbourhood.
“This is our first site in North Somerset, we’re proud to be expanding into a new area, and we look forward to continuing to work closely with residents and the wider Congresbury community at every step of the journey.”
Once complete, the development will create an attractive new neighbourhood on the edge of Congresbury, featuring a collection of thoughtfully designed and energy-efficient three and four-bedroom homes.
Hartwell Chase represents Allison Homes South West’s ongoing commitment to building homes that meet the needs of the local community, while placing a strong focus on placemaking and sustainability. The site has been designed to include new areas of open green space and a new children’s play area for both new and existing residents to enjoy.
This latest milestone comes alongside Allison Homes South West’s growing pipeline of sites across the region, including its Centric Parc scheme in Bristol, and underscores the company’s commitment to supporting housing delivery and economic growth across the South West.
The first homes at Hartwell Chase are expected to be available for purchase from September 2026. You can register your interest on the Allison Homes website.
