Allison Homes sponsors inspire+ Sports Leadership Pathway
We have proudly sponsored the inspire+ Sports Leadership Pathway, allowing the charity to purchase brand-new kits for all the children and young people involved.
CEO of Allison Group, John Anderson was invited to hand over the new kits at the Sports Leadership Academy launch that took place at Priory Ruskin Academy in Grantham, where he also gave a speech to the attendees.
inspire+ is a sports and education charity that aims to positively impact young people’s lives by ensuring that the next generation is ‘healthy, happy and active’, through innovative educational and community initiatives. They are also one of the country’s largest PE and school sport apprenticeship providers and support young people through community provisions, mainly delivered during school holidays.
The Leadership Pathway is one of the most impactful programmes the charity offers, and this academic year over 900 children and young people will take part. The programme expands from early primary school through to secondary school and teaches important transferable skills along the way.
The first stage is for pupils to become Playground Leaders, who are trained to lead structured play in their primary schools to help children meet the recommended daily minimum of 60 minutes of physical activity per day. The Leaders also take an active role in ensuring all children are included and having fun at breaktimes.
The next step takes place in both primary and secondary schools and sees the children become Young Ambassadors, who help the school arrange events and activities for fellow students as well as lead assemblies to inspire and educate. This includes participation at the Mini Olympics and Legacy Tour.
In secondary school, the students can become members of the Sports Leadership Academy. Students who are part of the programme take an active role in PE lessons and assist with sports clubs and festivals for younger children. The programme also involves volunteering in the community and students who complete it amass thousands of volunteer hours.
In June 2024 our employees volunteered at the inspire+ Mini Olympics, and as part of our Partnerships Charitable Scheme we made a donation of £4,800 to the charity in July. Recently, we also sponsored a Young Ambassador Event which was attended by Connor Nottingham, Digital Marketing Executive. During the event, the ambassadors received their inspire+ merchandise and took part in a fantastic training session that they brought back to their schools to make a meaningful difference.
Vincent Brittain, CEO and Founder at inspire+ said: “We are delighted that Allison Homes are supporting the charity that includes our Leadership Pathway, a programme that hundreds of local children and young people are involved in each year. Those involved will be gaining many transferable skills that will make them so employable in the future, who knows one day they may be employed by Allison Homes.”
John Anderson said: “We are very proud to be supporting the inspire+ Leadership Pathway. This is an excellent programme that harnesses the benefits of physical activity for wellbeing, whilst also teaching young people important leadership skills. We look forward to seeing all that the students accomplish in their time in the programme.”
