Allison Homes celebrates Pride Month by donating £1,500 to three LGBTQ+ charities
We’re so proud to have supported Pride Month (June) for the fifth consecutive year and donated a total of £1,500 to three LGBTQ+ charities.
Lincoln Pride, Leicestershire LGBTQ+ Centre and Sunrise Diversity in North Devon, who each operate within one of our regions, have received donations of £500 to assist with general running costs.
Our contributions will help Leicestershire LGBTQ+ Centre and Sunrise Diversity reach more people in need of support, and help Lincoln Pride, which is taking place on Saturday 15th August on Orchard Street in the city centre, be hosted for another year.
Across the business, we’ve been supporting Pride Month since June 2022 and have been making £500 donations to local LGBTQ+ charities every year since. Now in the fifth year, our total donation amount stands at £8,000.
Alongside supporting charities with financial aid, we proudly display Pride flags at all our developments throughout June to further show our support.
John Anderson, CEO of Allison Homes, said: “At Allison Homes, we believe the strongest communities are built when people feel respected, included and able to be themselves. Supporting Pride Month is one small part of our wider commitment to creating an environment where diversity is celebrated and everyone feels they belong, both within our business and in the communities where we build.
“We’re proud to have supported local LGBTQ+ organisations for five consecutive years, building lasting relationships with charities that do incredibly important work and continuing to play our part in helping create more inclusive communities for everyone.”
David Brown, Co-Chair of Lincoln Pride, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Allison Homes for their continued support over the past five years. Quite simply, Pride wouldn’t happen without sponsors like them. At a time when Lincoln is seeing high levels of hate crime against the LGBTQ+ community, it’s more important than ever that Pride remains a visible, safe and inclusive space to celebrate diversity, equity and inclusion.”
Carla Hills, Interim Centre Manager at Leicestershire LGBTQ+ Centre, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Allison Homes for supporting Leicestershire LGBTQ+ Centre for the fourth year in a row. It is brilliant to be able to count on their continued support and to see a regional business recognise the importance of investing in local charities and community organisations.
“This donation will help us continue providing vital support, information and services to around 800 LGBTQ+ people each year across Leicestershire. We are delighted to have Allison Homes alongside us on that journey.”
Ana Lodge, CEO of Sunrise Diversity, said: “We’re thrilled to have the backing of Allison Homes during LGBTQ+ Pride Month and beyond, and we’re incredibly grateful for their generous donation towards our work. Partnerships with local businesses play a vital role in helping to create communities that are safe, welcoming and inclusive for everyone, regardless of their background, identity or lived experience. Allison Homes’ commitment will help us continue making that vision a reality.”
