Bristol development recognised as Deal of the Year
Allison Homes South West has been named the overall winner of the ‘Deal of the Year’ Award at the Insider South West Residential Property Awards 2026, for its Longmoor development in Bristol.
With an outline consent for up to 510 homes, the Longmoor acquisition by Allison Homes has unlocked large-scale housing delivery in South Bristol. To make the deal possible, the housebuilder structured a bespoke funding package combining equity investment with a flexible five-year debt facility from Leumi UK, designed to evolve from land acquisition through to peak development funding, unlocking long-term certainty and enabling the transaction to complete decisively and without delay.
According to Insider Media, ‘Judges said this deal “proves that affordable housing can be done” and called it a “big one for Bristol”, also applauding its implications down the road to enable the ambition for the Ashton Gate sporting quarter.’
Glyn Mabey, Managing Director of Allison Homes South West, commented: “We are really proud that the acquisition of our Longmoor site has been named as Deal of the Year.
“At Allison Homes, our team works hard to deliver the homes that people need, in the places they’re most needed, and it’s fantastic to see this being recognised.”
Guy Brocklehurst, Relationship Director at Leumi UK, said: “This award is testament to the quality of the Longmoor scheme, and the commitment of both Leumi UK and Allison Homes to building a trusted partnership.
“Longmoor is one of the region’s most important residential developments, and we’re thrilled to be playing a part in shaping a vibrant new community for Bristol.”
The Longmoor deal’s impact extends well beyond the site boundary. Independent Home Builders Federation estimates indicate that the deal will unlock approximately 1,772 jobs, create 21 apprenticeships or traineeships, contribute nearly £23 million towards affordable housing, deliver £3.2 million in infrastructure funding and generate £459,000 in local sport and leisure spend through delivery of the development, underlining the scale of economic and social value triggered by the transaction.
Allison Homes was also shortlisted in the ’Affordable Housing Development of the Year’ category for its Post Hill development in Tiverton.
This awards success correlates with a period of strong growth for Allison Homes South West, with a series of senior hires during Q1 2026 reflecting a commitment to scaling talent in line with operational expansion across the country. The company also recently secured a £165 million finance facility to support its continued growth across the East of England, the Midlands and South West, agreed with HSBC, NatWest and Homes England, and has been recognised once again as a 5 star housebuilder by the Home Builders Federation (HBF).
