Allison Homes Central secures land for 68 new homes in Peterborough village

Our Central region has completed the acquisition of a site in the conservation village of Thorney, on the outskirts of Peterborough, that is set to make way for 68 new build homes.

The scheme is situated off Deer Park Way, and will form the second phase of our popular Abbey Park development. Phase 1 sold out in 2022 and provides residents with a mix of countryside and city living.

Construction work on Abbey Park Phase 2 commenced in July 2023 and will be completed in late 2025.

Once finished, the project will provide a total of 68 new homes, including three and four-bedroom open-market sale properties and affordable homes available through rent and shared ownership.

David Morris, Strategic Land Director at Allison Homes, said: “We are thrilled to have acquired this land, which will play a vital role in providing new homes, bringing fresh benefits for the local economy and community, and creating a number of new jobs.

“Phase 2 of our Abbey Park development will deliver a stunning range of 68 new homes for all types of local homebuyers, from first-time buyers to growing families, to downsizers.

“I’d like to thank all our internal team members who were involved in seeing this acquisition over the finish line for their hard work and commitment, as well as our legal team at Roythornes and the landowner’s representatives at Mills & Reeve and Bletsoes.”

Thorney is a historical, peaceful village which is located less than eight miles away from Peterborough, with a selection of independent shops, cafés, restaurants and a community centre, ideal for those seeking a village lifestyle without wanting to give up the convenience of city living.
