Allison Homes celebrates win at Peterborough Apprenticeship Awards

We’re delighted to share that Allison Homes has been named winner of the SME Employer Award at this year’s Peterborough Apprenticeship Awards. The ceremony, held at the Holiday Inn, Peterborough West, was organised by the Peterborough Telegraph and sponsored by Inspire Education Group (IEG).

The evening brought together businesses, training providers and apprentices from across the region to celebrate the positive impact of apprenticeships. Guests enjoyed a drinks reception and dinner before the awards ceremony, hosted by Kev Lawrence of Peterborough City Radio (PCR FM).

A Night to Remember

A fantastic team from our East Region joined us on the night, including Andy Richards (Production Director), Michele Raucci, Simon Fraser, Kirsty Embleton, Isabelle Impey, Paul Vasey (recently named National Site Manager of the Year by LABC Warranty), Stephanie Dunbar, Declan Rust, Ben Gallacher, and apprentice Lauren Bartle, who has since progressed into an Assistant Infrastructure Engineer role.

We were also proud to sponsor the Large Employer of the Year Award, an important category that shines a light on outstanding apprenticeship programmes within larger businesses.

Apprenticeships at the Heart of What We Do

Winning this award reflects our ongoing commitment to apprenticeships. Supporting and developing new talent is central to our culture and our mission to address the skills gap within the construction industry.

A big part of this commitment is our partnership with Inspire Education Group, led by Chief Executive Rachel Nicholls. Together, we’ve created tailored pathways that give apprentices hands-on experience on our developments using the latest tools and techniques, while linking their learning directly to industry needs.

Earlier this month, we welcomed six new apprentices to our induction day, beginning their careers in bricklaying and carpentry across our business. This is another exciting step forward as we continue to invest in the next generation of construction professionals.

Speaking after the award win, Andy Richards, East Region Production Director at Allison Homes, said: “We are thrilled to receive this recognition. Apprentices bring fresh ideas, energy and ambition to our sites, and we’re proud to give them not just the technical skills but also the confidence and support to build their careers. This award is a testament to the investment we make, right across our business, to ensure that apprenticeships are central to our culture and our future.”

By celebrating alongside fellow employers and strengthening our partnerships with education providers, we’re showing just how important apprenticeships are, not only to us at Allison Homes, but also to the future of the construction industry as a whole.
