Allison Homes Central hands over first affordable homes at Whittlesey development

Our Central team has handed over the first eight affordable homes to Platform Housing Group at our Whittlesey development, providing homeseekers with more accessible routes onto the property ladder.

Our Violet Meadows development, located off Drybread Road, will deliver 175 new, energy efficient homes. Over the course of the development, a total of 99 homes will be handed over to Platform, which will be available for local property seekers via Shared Ownership and affordable rent.

Platform’s portion of the site, known as Hartley Mere, will consist of a high-quality range of one, two, three and four bedroom homes, catering to all lifestyles and helping meet demand for affordable housing in the wider Peterborough area.

To celebrate the first handover, Justyna Chohan, Sales Consultant, Nicola Traves, Project Manager and Andrew Sharp, Quality Manager at Platform visited the development, where they met with our Site Manager, Lloyd Fletcher, Assistant Site Manager, Michael Murray and Partnership Quality Manager, Faye Meadows.

The Platform team were then given a tour of the site and saw first-hand the progress that’s been made since construction work commenced last year.

Nicola Traves, Project Manager at Platform, said: “We’re very pleased to have taken handover of the first properties in Whittlesey, which have been built to the highest standard and delivered immaculately by Allison Homes.

It was great to link up with the Allison team to witness just how much hard work, expertise and attention to detail goes into not only crafting excellent homes, but cultivating a thriving community too.

We are proud to be contributing towards the much-needed supply of affordable homes in the region, while demonstrating that Shared Ownership and affordable rent properties do not have to compromise on quality, convenience or location.

Sophie Kendal, Land and Partnerships Director at Allison Homes Central, said: “We’re very proud to have handed over the first affordable homes on our Whittlesey development and can’t wait to see residents settle in. This milestone reflects the strength of our partnership with Platform Housing Group and our shared commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable homes that meet local housing needs.

Providing much-needed affordable housing remains a priority for us at Allison Homes. We’re looking forward to continuing our work with Platform to deliver more affordable homes across the development, leading to the creation of a balanced and vibrant new community.

Violet Meadows is the fifth development we’re delivering in collaboration with Platform. The partnership falls under the branch of Allison Partnerships, our division dedicated to working with housing associations, local authorities and other partners to provide high-quality affordable homes where they’re needed most.
