Allison Homes Central donates £600 to children’s cancer charity in Corby

We’ve proudly donated £600 to Bemorefab Children’s Cancer Charity, helping support children and young people undergoing cancer treatment.

Our donation funded two places on the charity’s Fox in My Spot programme, one tablet device to support a child’s access to learning during treatment, and two Make More FAB Boxes, which provide seasonal activity packs designed to bring comfort and moments of joy to children undergoing treatment.

Based within the Priors Hall Park community in Corby, where we are preparing to deliver a new collection of homes, Bemorefab supports children, families and schools affected by childhood cancer through practical support, education and awareness initiatives.

The charity was founded following founder Andrew Bark’s own experience navigating his daughter Florence’s leukaemia diagnosis in 2022. Inspired by the support his family received during an incredibly challenging period, Bemorefab was created to ensure no child or family facing childhood cancer feels alone.

Today, the charity works directly with schools to help explain childhood cancer in age-appropriate ways, ensuring classmates and teachers understand the impact of a diagnosis whilst helping children remain connected to education and friendships during extended absences.

One of the charity’s most distinctive initiatives, Fox in My Spot, sees a large stuffed fox take a child’s place in the classroom whilst they undergo treatment. Classmates fill the fox’s backpack with drawings and messages, helping children feel remembered whilst away from school.

Alongside supporting families, Bemorefab also raises awareness of childhood cancer within the wider community and promotes the importance of blood donations, organ donations and joining the bone marrow register.

Andrew Bark, Founder and CEO of Bemorefab Children’s Cancer Charity, said: “The support from Allison Homes means so much to everyone here at Bemorefab CCC. Donations like this make it possible for us to be there for children and families during some of the hardest moments of their lives, whether that’s helping a child stay connected to education during treatment, supporting siblings who are often the unsung heroes of a cancer journey, or simply ensuring no child ever feels forgotten.

We are incredibly grateful to Allison Homes and the team at Priors Hall Park for choosing to support us. Every penny donated will go directly towards changing lives and helping children and families feel seen, supported and connected throughout their journey.

Adam Knight, Managing Director at Allison Homes Central, said: “Supporting organisations that make a genuine difference within communities close to our developments is incredibly important to us. Bemorefab carries out remarkable work supporting children and families through some of life’s most challenging moments, helping young people stay connected to education, friendships and everyday life during treatment.

We’re proud our donation will support initiatives designed to provide comfort, practical support and moments of happiness to children when they need it most.
