Reporting to the Group HR Director with a strong dotted line to the Regional MD and his board of Directors, the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a pro-active approach to the key responsibilities below.

Applicants will need to demonstrate strong communication and relationship management, including a good working knowledge of HR disciplines and standards and Employment Law. Managing several strategic and day to day projects withing the region and with the wider HR team across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Relationship management, especially at managerial, collaborator levels and senior managers.
  • Business management, including financial management and strategic planning.
  • Verbal and written communication, including active listening, for determining business goals and suggesting ways to achieve them through human resource initiatives.
  • Logic, analytics and problem-solving for evaluating business metrics and determining ways to improve results.
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment law, including inclusion and diversity programmes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the industry, focus area and business trends.
  • Guiding management on employee relations and performance management.
  • Offering recruitment assistance to the company.
  • Improving, implementing, and administering human resources policies and procedures.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with employment agencies to ensure the selection of the best candidates.
  • Implementing programs to improve the employee experience of the organisation as a workplace.
  • Handling complaints and disciplinary procedures for the company.
  • Arranging services for employees, such as counselling services.
  • Assisting with salary negotiations.
  • Managing the HR system.
  • Monitoring sickness and absence.
  • Providing help and support to all employees.
  • Collaborating across the HR team and wider business.

What you will bring

  • Experience of working as a HR generalist.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • The ability to communicate across all levels of the business.
  • Multi-tasking abilities.
  • Proficient IT and administration skills.
  • Trustworthy and conscientious.
  • CIPD Level 5 Intermediate Certificate or Diploma in HR Management.
  • Payroll experience (not essential).
  • Proficiency in commonly used word processing software packages such as MS Office suite.
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the hiring process.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations.
  • A customer-focused outlook with a high level of discretion and professionalism.
  • The ability to collaborate well with team members and management.
  • Cultural awareness and excellent people skills.
