Allison Homes brews support for Macmillan by raising over £280 at coffee mornings
We have proudly raised over £280 for leading cancer charity Macmillan, by hosting coffee mornings throughout October.
Macmillan’s Coffee Morning is the charity’s biggest fundraising event, and officially took place on Friday 29th September. All funds raised go directly towards helping improve the lives of people and families affected by cancer.
Across the country, Macmillan supports patients and their families by providing emotional, practical, physical and financial support. The charity also works with healthcare professionals by offering tools, training courses and up-to-date resources, and carries out research about people living with cancer to learn how to improve its services.
Last year over £12 million was raised at coffee mornings across the UK, and in total over £290 million has gone to Macmillan since the first event was hosted in 1990. So far this year, over £6 million has been donated to the charity.
Throughout this month, we popped on the kettle and hosted coffee mornings for our employees, allowing them to enjoy a cup of coffee and a cake in return for a small donation.
John Anderson, CEO of Allison Group, said: “We are thrilled to have raised over £280 for Macmillan after hosting coffee mornings for the second year in a row.
“The work that Macmillan does all year round is invaluable, and we knew we had to do our bit by getting involved with the charity’s famous fundraiser. We would like to thank all of our employees who got involved and donated to this important cause, and we can’t wait to host more events next year.”
